Help
Answers to the questions people ask most.
Is my data online?
No. Snipit has no account and no internet access. Everything stays on your phone.
How do I update Snipit?
Open the Download page, download the new version and install it over the old one. Your records stay. Make a backup first, just in case. Your version is shown at the bottom of Snipit's Settings.
How do I move to a new phone?
On your old phone: Settings → Backup and restore → make a backup with a password, and save the file somewhere you can reach (Drive, email, a USB cable). On your new phone: install Snipit, open Backup and restore → Open a backup, pick the file and type the password.
I forgot my backup password.
It can't be recovered: not by you, and not by us. If you still have your phone, make a new backup with a new password and keep it somewhere safe.
What happens if I uninstall Snipit?
Your trackers are removed with the app. Make a backup first.
How often should I back up?
After big changes, and at least once a month. Snipit reminds you when it's been a while.
What does the app lock do?
It asks for your fingerprint, face or phone PIN when you open Snipit. It hides your trackers from people using your phone; it doesn't encrypt them.
Can I use another currency?
Yes: Settings → Money → Currency. Only the sign changes; amounts are not converted.
Why does it say “next month” instead of a number of days?
Snipit only counts days when you entered a full date or set a Due day. For a month-only row it says “next month”, so it never guesses a day you didn't enter.
What are the cards at the bottom of Home?
Snipit's own cards: our sponsors, what's new, help and ways to support Snipit. Tapping one opens this website in your browser; swipe them to see the others. They never track you, and Snipit stays offline.
